The rich cultural heritage of the Igbo people, particularly the intricate motifs found in Ukara cloth, provides valuable inspiration for modern fashion design. Traditionally, Ukara is used in ceremonial contexts and embodies cultural narratives and artistic refinement. This study examines how Ukara motifs can be adapted into contemporary fashion accessories through screen-printing techniques. By combining traditional textile knowledge with modern production methods, the research aims to bridge cultural preservation and contemporary fashion trends. The study involves analyzing Ukara designs, creating stencils from traditional patterns, and applying them to various materials such as cotton, silk, and synthetic fabrics to produce fashion accessories including bags, clothing, caps, hats, slippers, and jewelry. The findings highlight the potential of culturally inspired design in modern fashion and recommend increased public awareness through exhibitions and workshops. The study concludes that adapting Ukara motifs through screen printing preserves cultural identity while enhancing global relevance.
